Opsryx vs JobBOSS²

JobBOSS² is a proven job-shop ERP when quote-to-cash depth and a large installed base matter. Opsryx is built as a focused private-cloud operations system for mixed fab shops that want office and floor together on a plant plan — not a multi-month per-user ERP programme.

JobBOSS² — strengths

✓Decades as a default US/UK job-shop ERP name.
✓Quote-to-cash and estimate-versus-actual costing are the heritage.
✓Shop-floor tracking and purchasing in one commercial spine.
✓Cloud and on-prem options; large installed base.

JobBOSS² — trade-offs to weigh

–Quote-based / per-user economics; floor logins get expensive.
–Implementation commonly months, with a meaningful services band.
–UX pedigree is legacy-ERP, not a modern tablet terminal.
–Some shops report a bumpy JobBOSS to JobBOSS² transition.

When JobBOSS² is still the better fit

• You want deep quote-to-cash ERP heritage and will pay in seats and services.
• You already run JobBOSS well and need to extend, not replace the architecture.
• North American job-shop ERP depth and vendor ecosystem matter more than a modern tablet UX.

When Opsryx is usually the better fit

• You need the whole team online without charging operators per seat.
• A modern browser terminal and live capacity board are primary reasons to buy.
• Year-one cost should be a clear plant subscription (£349/mo or £3,490/yr + onboarding).
• You want invoices that start from the job with a built-in ledger or Xero / QBO / Sage connected.
